Reviewing as we go

Quite a long intro. I like the effects and sounds in the background. Great ambiance.

That synth changes the mood a little, I kind of like the melody.
Everything seems to be building up to something powerful very slowly.

Kind of died down into a subtle kick beat.

I'm sorry, but I'm not diggin the beat at 3:12. Seems too rock-ish/late 80's electropop.

The song doesn't seem to be really moving anywhere. The same repetitive synth melodies.

At the 5:00 mark now. It's slowing down to some pads. Very peaceful.

It's really long with the same thing going on through out the whole song.
It has a feeling of building up to something only to go to a slow calm.
I can tell you put forth a lot of effort into it. It sounds very well made, just a little boring for my tastes. I could picture this being played in a lounge bar or something.

Don't stop making music.

Adrifter responds:

I thank you for the constructive criticism. The beat I do wish to improve upon and add some more complexity to, and if possible, find some new samples for. As they stand, they suit the song well enough I guess. I just didn't want to stick to the electronic kicks and snares, I like to have real percussion in my music.

I prefer making the slower, minimal, and repetitive lounge-to synths and accommodate them with powerful drums and such to give it a slight punch, but I also like to broaden my style a bit so my music appeals to more people. I'll definitely take into consideration what you have said and see what I can cook up next. Thanks again for the response.

HARD ARHAAHHH!

I really like the beat with the guitar at around 00:22. If you had a more realistic drum kit it would rock out so hard.

Don't stop making music.

ill make another remix of this song

Hi there.

It doesn't really make me think of peace.

It's almost suspenseful. Like, I'm not sure what will happen next. You create a bit of tension then resolve it with the nice melodies that come afterwards.

Keep it up!
Check me out!

DarqueHand responds:

Tanks very much! I actually agree It isn't peace-like. I just couldn't think of a name for it lol.

I love the feel of it

I only wish it was a bit more jazzy. Throw in some cymbal rides. maybe some rhodes or an upright pluck. would be off the hook. I like the subtle use of the synths. keeping it some what organic. I LOVE IT!

Keep it up

Cheers!

I'm not sure what Rhodes are but I'll make a more upbeat Drum N Bass one day...

And I Think To Myself...

Haha. I like this song. The strings were a bit weird though.... =\

If there were better strings this would be great!

BowserThedestructive responds:

strings are good to me the wierd sound you hear is an edited violin I made it this way to make happy song to like a sadish song happy Piano mixed with a downish none harmonicish Violin + undering slightly unheared Strings.

Great

First off, congratulations on being this week's featured artist.
I'm loving the main arp melody in this. The ambiance in the beginning was awesome. Everything was put together very well.

The only thing I didn't like were the crashes. It just didn't fit the song and there was too much of it for my tastes. Maybe a higher splash with less reverb?

Great song. A deserving artist for the weekly featured.

KrimsonXtidE responds:

This is kinda late of a response, but yeah...thanks for your input. Yeah, my crashes need a lot of work. And damn! I didn't even know I was the week's featured artist, let alone people even liked my music. Thanks for the rating and the advice.

Nice

I can totally hear this in some sort of market in an RPG.

phexion responds:

A market you say? When I wrote this piece I was thinking of a factory type setting over producing some sort of mechanical robots etc but the market gives me ideas for other possibilites, thanks.

How's it goin' b9h?

First off, I kind of like that nintendo feel to the beginning. The extra sounds running along in the background is nice. IT really sets the tone to it.

The song as a whole felt like a giant jumble of ideas into one. You have soooo many different melodies jumping out at you in here. Try to limit yourself because this is just too much for me. It really didn't "go anywhere".

The piano was a bit overplayed. I felt like the song revolved around that piano.

The beat!! omg the beat... I need it to be more IN MY FACE OVERTHETOP OMGWTF kind of thing. lol. Your beat was awesome, I just need it to stand out more.

Anyways, GREAT JOB just limit the melodies you use. Plan it out before you sit down. etc.

Nice

This totally makes me think of Zelda for some reason.
Anyways, It's really spacey as the reviewers below have said. I like the panning you've done in it.
Keep it up.

Ooo

HEY RED 7!!! As always, I love your beat. I've never heard the original, but I can thoroughly enjoy it here. I can't get over how much I love your beats man. :)) I need to hear something from you that you made in 2008!!!!!!!

Redse7en responds:

2008 didn't yield that many tracks. Sorry, but I had to go through some very horrible times and just didn't have the spirit. 2009 is here now and I'm hoping to bust out more songs that are more up to date with the times. Still trying to learn my style.
