this is tight

i think the intro was a bit long, especially cause the soundof piano you used at first.. it sounded too...... electronic. and .. iono? but once everything was put together it was like daaaamnnnn..

OMG

when you first brought in those BRILLIANT WONDERFUL strings... my body shivered.. just...
i don't know..
everytime i hear those strings come in.. such a great piece.

i'll stop typing now so i can hear it once more.

ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICANT!!!!

MaestroRage responds:

I'm glad you were so taken by them i2! Sorry for the uber delayed response! Nearly 10 days! I completely forgot about these reviews X(

In any case, this piece was one I worked for a rather long time on, the second longest since The Tank's Thunder, to date my personal fav.

Thank you for the review ^^, i'm glad you liked it.

wow

i love it, really dark. not a fan of that synth though. but it still brought something to the song. favorite part was the simple piano. and the bass. keep it up man.

i2

((((check out my "back in the day" beat))))

Fury responds:

thanks man, support really helps, but hating is the best way for me to produce.
they keep me goin like folgers in my cup

WOW!

first of all.. congratulations on the top 3 weekly faves spots!! you greedy bastard!

this was awesome, love the glitches.
the beat sounded REALLY repetitive though. sounded the same the whole way through except the glitches. then another beat comes out on top of the already laying beat.

i like how it sounded chaotic though. =)

dj-padman1 responds:

Just lucky man! Everyones away on holidays so there's no zero voters skulking around at present. Its a mixed blessing...
Exactly right dude, I really need to work on the diversity of beats..I hear ya, I hear ya :)

amazing

first off.. I'M IN THE DESCRIPTION!! WOOT! lol

simply amazing drums as usual. how do you put so much energy into it?! i like how diverse it is.
lovin the bass so much! not too much but enough to bang.

great melodies. i've always loved your basslines. great use of synths. how did you think up all these different melodies for one song?!?

pretty good builds.

i liked the changes in here, how it went to a slower beat, then the melody that fit very well with the slow beat but just as perfect with the faster one.

amazing work man!

i2

i think this is one of your best... possibly.
the chopped up vocal was a nice touch.

Redse7en responds:

Yea I thought I would put you into the description since you critiqued this song and told me to work on it which led me to this :) As always I can seem to do energy just fine but when I have to slow down in a song it's kinda hard. Heh guess it's the downfall to all my energetic songs. Very glad you liked the bass tho cause I was told it wasnt hard or loud enough to hear well to fit with the song but I kept it the way it was cause it would have been distorted. I really dont know how I come up with things like this. Most of this song was experimental to begin with. I kept like 1/2 of all the things I tested and it eventually led me to this. I'm glad you noticed the slow down. It took me quite a bit to make it sound the same type of drums but restretch some samples and still have it quality material. I got some new things I'm working on now and don't worry :) this song is only 1 out of 3 for my "Bolt-Action" DnB series all featuring 178 bpm so it connects smoothly. I also got a couple of techno tracks I've been working on lately. Hit me up on AIM or something cause I need your sugguestions. Thanks for stopping by and the nice review!

hmm..

this sounds SOOOOO FAMILIAR..
same with the name.. suteki da ne....
is from a cartoon or something?!??

this is nice though, originality is down cause i KNOW its from something else. but i know it took quite a bit of effort.

REALLY NICE!

i2

hit me back up

aegtkaef.

lol...

good song though

FWOW! (the "F" was sposed to be there)

amazing how you can turn the theme song of one of the most happy times in one's life into something so.... evil, eerie, ... and other various words to describe it.

i love the little plucks in there,
i liked the snare, and the brass in there :)
i think the second choir sounded too... computerish?? it didn't sound real, but still was really nice in the piece.

such an imaginitive mind of yours. :) i applaude your creativity.

WHERE DO YOU GET ALL THESE PLUGINS?!?!?????

i2

ps. i hate you because i love you. >_<

MaestroRage responds:

The second choir (I believe you are referring to the opera singer), is indeed quite computerish, but sadly that is the best solo voice plug-in I have, and you should hear it before I reverb the CRAP out of it X_x. It would make for a great techno synth, but yeah, for orchestral, not so much.

As for all the plugins, let me try to recall all the instruments, most of them come from East West Symphonic Gold.

East West Gold
French Horns
Pizzicato Strings (the plucky ones)
Timpini
Snare
Solo Cello
Cello Chords

East West Silver
Organ
Ah choir

Solo Opera Singer - SoundFont
Irene Borich (I think thats the last name, I could be wrong)

I think thats all of it.

Also, it's great fun to hate to love people, or love to hate them, because then confusing statements like this can be written and in your confusion you just hate them :D!

That aside though, thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked the piece!

you suck!

=) haha, just playing budddddddd
this shit's tight, stop watching me type this review! good bass.
i think you shoulda matched the melody with the vocals a bit more..

:)

i2

supaboi responds:

so?!

wow

i love the choir, soo deep and full of emotion with just a simple "ah"

bells were awesome! set a grave tone to it.

great percussion, it puts me in a mood right from the start.

i love how the violin sometimes hit two notes at once, almost like a violin duet or something.

i wasn't expecting a flute in here at all, but you made it fit in so perfectly!

it sounds like this song is building and building..
like everyone is gearing up for battle, they're ready for what's to come. they meetin a wide open field to see their opponent on the other side. one soldier thinks about what he's fighting for, his wife, his children, and his fellow mates. each of the leaders stare at each other ready for one to make the first move..
the bell sounds, in slow motion, yelling in complete silence, both charge towards the middle of the field.. then it fades to black...

wow.. i soooo wish i could make amazing flashes... it would go great for a war movie teaser.

i dont really have much to criticize about this, i'm a noob at orchestral pieces, but i can't help but hear some man's vocals in here, yelling at his soldiers, giving them the speach before battle... but.. i'm just thiinkin theatrics now. :)

i2

keep em comin

MaestroRage responds:

Oh look at silly Maestro replying to his reviews one week late X_x, I apologize, life has been quite unkind as of late.

In any case.

I'm glad you liked the piece i2, the images you present in your review, is quite close to the image in my head during it's construction, but with the war going nuts in my head, the song lost direction, and as said many times before, my production skills were quite lacking.

Oh well, one day I will return to this piece, polish it up nice and right, and spit it out again, remixed!

Thank you for the review i2, again, i'm glad you enjoyed the piece ^^.
