Melodies!

Loving the pads off the bat! Such an epic feel.

Oh no, that synth is just stabbing at the ambiance of the song. Try lowering the volume on it a bit and maybe adding a bit of a reverb and delay on it. The synths make it sound a little like a old game without any effects on it.

It just sounds a little empty.

I can absolutely see the potential in here, just polish up on your skills a bit. I can see that melodies come to you no problem, but making the melody is only an eighth of what you need to do.

Don't take this as negative. Its constructive criticism. I'm just being honest. If everyone said, "Hey! That's bad ass dude!" You wouldn't know what you'd need to work on.

Anyways. I hope you expand upon this song. I'd like to hear what it could come out to sound like.

Check me out sometime.

(p.s. not really feelin' the electric guitar, if you want that dirty raspy sound, try going for a saw-ish pad)

Allo!

First off, the kick is a bit overpowering, which causes some cracking for me.

Not really my style of music, but I definitely can appreciate it. You've got some pretty good melodies floating around here. The strong consistent bass line is good.

The audience cheer in the background makes it sound pretty hyped, but you shouldn't have to use it to make your song feel that way.

It gets a little repetitive. I feel that it needs a little diversity in here.

Don't get me wrong, the song sounds good, it just needs a little work here and there. Keep making music and hopefully you could come check me out.

Great!

I absolutely love your strings in the piece.
The synths are well done.
It definitely has an action movie soundtrack vibe to it.

I only wish that you had kept with the beat from the beginning instead of going to the generic 4 kick beat.

Incredible builds, effects, instruments, and feel.
Keep it up guys!

Thanks for the review! I hear ya on the beat. the 4-on-the-floor beat is definitely overused. I think the reason we went with that is because it's almost unparalleled when it comes to amping the energy of the song. But I definitely see where you're coming from.

Thanks again for the comments!

Whoa ho hoho!

I really like the main melody in this song! Has a really nice feel to it.

Then it gets cut offfff!!!! C'mon man....

Hope to hear the final version of this.

Keep it up man!

I cant continue, i said in the comment box that this was far from done and that the sound gets really shitty. I had to pause every 2 seconds just to make this 38 seconds clear...Thats why i want to collab with someone who can fix it or have someone teach me. This will never be finished until i learn or get a partner lol, so sorry if it never gets finished. But thats why it got cut off and stuff. Thanks for the review tho :]

3rd song????

You've gotten this down pretty quickly then huh?

You're doing a pretty decent job so far man, honestly.
Simple yet effective beat.
The melody is okay. Just a few notes that bother me.

One way for you to sound a little better other than working on your skills is to get better sounds. I've spent hours trying to find good sounds to use. It's definitely worth the time spent.

Good work on your first submission. I'd hope to hear back from you. Keep it up, I'm sure I'll be hearing more from you.

Thanks for the review! Ill get to work on finding some good synths and drum sets to get a more perfected sound (=

WOOOO

What an extremely energetic beat!

And oh man when the bassline comes in with the gated synth it really starts getting hyped.

How have I not heard of you before?!??! Or have I...?

I'm really diggin' your style. The composition is pretty damn amazing. I love the energy in here. Loving every minute of it.

One suggestion... The intro is a bit long and made me think it was just going to be a beat the whole way through. I understand the long intro if you were making this song for a club, but this is newgrounds.

Great Job! Keep it up! Check me out sometime!

Wow

I can't help but to think what this would sound like if it were DnB....
Add a deep synth bassline chop up the beat a little... just a little..
Various effect strewn through out the song... would be awesome

Maestro!

I absolutely love your use of imagery. The sharp high pitched stabs... The low empowering horns... The snares...

These all make me think of..
stabs = cutting
horns = a power over somebody
snares = sweat dripping...

Definitely a feast for my mind.

Keep it up man!

MaestroRage responds:

Hey Paul! It has been a while! How have you been?! Thanks for dropping by :D!

Your imagery is remarkably close to what I was thinking, though the horns idea being power over somebody is new D:! Interesting to say the least.

Thanks for that, and the review, i'm glad you liked it!

Nice

Pretty nice melodies man.
I like the changes in it.
Sweeeeet tunes!

but damn! there's soooooo much air!

lol, keep making music man.

Hello there

I see a lot of potential. I'm loving your melody. I like how they both are playing different melodies at the same to make one. It just seems a little empty.

You need a bassline. The lower gated synth isn't doing much for it.
The beat is pretty solid and well made.
I like the little bells you used for a short while.
The break down was nice. Right before the kicks dropped in.
You used the little vocal sample a little too much. Subtlety is key.

I'd love to hear this in a full blown trance song. Bass line, supporting melodies, pads, magnificent builds, maybe have this melody as the main melody, but don't introduce it so early on in the song. Give them a taste, a sense of anticipation, then you build to an almost orgasmic explosion of beautiful melodies.

As you can already tell I'm passionate about music.

Keep up the great work!
